Art All Night (Showcase Series)

Art All Night: Virtual Livestream, Washington

An activity! An activity! If 2020 has you down, this should bring a smile to your face. Art All Night is usually one of my favorite nights every year in DC. Usually you can roam from neighborhood to neighborhood, picking out which arts events you want to see - music, dance, fire eaters, visual art - you name it, someone's doing it. This year, they're keeping the spirt alive with a virtual art all night and I'm super excited to be a part of it. The showcases are Friday and Saturday nights the weekends of Sept. 18/19 and 25/26 but the activities run every day for 2 weeks. I'll be on September 26th but you can tune in as early as September 13th for interactive activities like dance/movement classes, zoom painting classes and zoom cooking classes so go check it out here: (click the activities tab to see the daily activities. To find musical performances, click on the showcase tab) Maybe I'll see you in a zoom!

Friday & Saturday Night SHOWCASE SERIES 100s of diverse artists and businesses Themed promotions fun for the whole family Don’t miss out on promotions from restaurants and businesses across the District From visual, performing and movement artists to culinary favorites & DC’s eclectic retail corridors- any labor of love is an artform: DC is art!

More about the band and event: The Seth Kibel Quintet, featuring Flo Anito, will present a high-energy program ranging from trad jazz to some slightly more modern swing and blues to, yes, even a little bit of Eastern-European Jewish Klezmer. Sidney Bechet, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Duke Ellington and more will be celebrated with music for suitable for listening or dancing! Or possibly even both! Historical commentary from Seth will educate and entertain, while the versatile soprano voice of Flo Anito will delight even the most dour concert-goer. Seth Kibel is one of the Mid-Atlantic’s premier woodwind specialists, working with some of the best bands in klezmer, jazz, swing, and more. Wowing audiences on clarinet, saxophone, and flute, Seth has made a name for himself in the Washington/Baltimore region, and beyond. He is the featured performer with The Kleztet, Bay Jazz Project, Music Pilgrim Trio, The Natty Beaux, and more. Winner of 28 Washington Area Music Awards (Wammies), including “Best World Music Instrumentalist” (2003-11) and “Best Jazz Instrumentalist” (2005, 2007-8, 2011-14). His most recent recording, When You're Smiling, was released in 2018 on the Azalea City Recordings record label. His song "New Waltz" was the Grand Prize winner of 2016 Mid-Atlantic Song Contest (MASC), sponsored by the Songwriters' Association of Washington (SAW).
